Growing tomatoes in containers is a perfect way for anyone living in the inner city or in an apartment to enjoy the luscious taste of fresh vine-ripened tomatoes.

Growing tomatoes the hydroponic way involves farming tomatoes in a nutrient-rich solution without using soil. Plants need nutrition, sunlight, and water to grow. Growing Tomatoes in containers is one of the most rewarding gardening activities and an easy way to start children gardening. They are easy to grow and quickly provide the freshest of tasty results. Growing tomatoes is a favorite vegetable gardening pastime. There is no mystery to growing heritage tomatoes.

Fertilize the plants about every month with a 5-8-10 or similar blend. Keep the plants watered and re-apply mulch as needed to protect the roots. Fertilize them every 3-4 weeks with 1-2 level tablespoons of fertilizer.

Gardening by the Moon publishes an annual calendar that shows the best days for planting by the phase and sign of the moon. Each month lists garden activities, and what seeds to start in flats, or plant directly in the garden. Gardening in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, just downriver from Aspen, has taught Sara McAllister a few things about extreme gardening. But a difficult climate is not Sara’s only challenge. Gardeners all over the world have found that natural citrus-based insecticides will kill off most of the pests you?re likely to see munching on your tomatoes.

blenders sales that you submit to Vita Mix Corporation via their online
ordering system or by telephone. The affiliate identification code number that
you get as an affiliate is also known as a coupon code. Win a free Vita-Mix 5200 Blender.

Coupon codes with $ 25.00 discount and free shipping announcements are
advertised as a lure throughout the web and on eBay. Customers use your coupon
code number to get free shipping worth $ 25.00 when they either call Vita-Mix
for their order or place it online directed to the Vita-Mix online ordering
site through your affiliate link, placed on your own website.

And
so you may offer your buyers $ 25 instant free shipping discount on all
Vita-Mix 5200 Blender purchases with this coupon code. The coupon code
associates the sale to the affiliate marketer who is supposed to receive the
commission. The company however offers free shipping to everyone also. And
because Vita-Mix Corporation also offers $ 25.00 free shipping to anyone buying
from the company directly anyway, it is perhaps somewhat little lame to even
luring your customers in on a free shipping deal.

It
does not give you as a Vita-Mix affiliate an advantage offering a free shipping
coupon code to a prospective blender buyer. It is in our opinion in
direct conflict with affiliate marketer’s efforts. To get a competitive
advantage over Vita-Mix’s own sales efforts, competing with them against their
own free shipping coupon, they suggest that you have some form of a program
offering in addition to the coupon for free shipping. It would probably be wise
to budget that cost into your advertising expenses with the expectation hat you
will get paid every quarter. If the free item you have to offer, costs you $ 10
each and you sell 10 Vita-Mix 5200 Blenders in a month, then you need to have $
300 put aside to afford that campaign.

Win a free Vita-Mix 5200 Blender. And
if you expect to actually sell 10 Vita Mix Blenders per month, this is perhaps
the top of the peak. Yes, there are some good methods to do more than that.
Plus it will take time and most likely you need to invest some time and money
in order to build your business and increase sales beyond 10 Vita-Mix Blenders.
You may even consider taking on an affiliate agreement with Blendtec. Blendtec
Blenders are in the same quality class as the Vita-Mix Blenders and actually
cost slightly less.

You
might want to consider free articles, free recipes, etc, to entice the sale.
Some successful Vita-Mix blender sales affiliates have restaurants or herbal
shops and health related stores. But Vita-Mix does not allow cash rebates or
advertising on eBay if you are an affiliate.

Vita-Mix
is also very strict with trying to protect its trade name(s) and trademarks. In
an interview we were told that it is a trade name or trademark violation when
using the Vita-Mix name without the permission of Vita-Mix on eBay. The company
does not want its affiliates or anyone else who is selling a vita mix blender
advertise its name on ebay. But Vita-Mix has hundreds of linked eBay advertisings
itself, selling $ 25.00 free shipping coupons and even off-loads its
refurbished used equipment on ebay. We might add, the 25$ free shipping coupon
was argued by Becky Prince that it should not be sold because it is unfair to
buyers.

During
3 sales occasions our customers ordered a Vita-Mix Blender with our affiliate
marketer coupon code directly at the Vita-Mix Corp. Our customers called us
with requests for refunds of the coupons we sold them for $ 1.50 each.
According to our customers, Vita-Mix Corp offered them the free shipping
telling them that no coupon code is needed. Perhaps this was to avoid having to
pay the commissions or the sales reps wanted to take credit. Vita Mix Corp did
not comment to our allegations.

Is
it that Vita-Mix Corporation is scamming numerous people into the affiliate
program to gain free advertising? Is it an inability of seeing the conflict
they create between affiliates and their own sales agenda? You might think that
smart, intelligent people that sell an incredibly well built machine would
recognize immediately that a program has serious and flawed conflicts. The
organization could be held liable for scamming people into advertising for them
and then not compensating them for their sales efforts. It may not be exactly
that, but at least it surely looks like it.<u1:p> </u1:p>

Well,
not all is as bad as it looks. We are certain that many Vita-Mix Affiliates
have had good experiences selling Vita-Mix blenders and receiving commission
checks every quarter. They may not know however that one or two of their sales
were not compensated. You see, there is no way to know that you sold a Vita-Mix
Blender unless you have a method in place to control your Vita-Mix Blender
Sales and unless you know of really every single attempted purchase sent to
their sales system via your website. At the moment, at the
beginning of the 21st Century, the computer age, Vita-Mix does not
offer an ctive account log-in where you can check your account status, at least
at the time. And there are no specific plans to have one system up and running.

In
an interview with Becky Prince, Sales Manager of Vita-Mix, she said that about
20 affiliates with Vita-Mix are actively engaged. The rest, over 3000 are
apparently only semi active. That might mean that 3000 sell 1 machine every 2
years or each year, and the 20 do the majority of the affiliate program sales,
while the majority of the revenue comes from road shows, inbound calls from
other advertising, and from Sam’s Club or CostCo sales. That is another
conflicting issue: CostCo and Sam’s Club get to sell the Vita-Mix 5200 at $
394.00 while the affiliates have to charge $ 449.

<u1:p></u1:p>We
started our affiliate marketing activities with Vita-Mix Corporation December
2007 and sold immediately that same month 12 Vita-Mix 5000 Blenders. It was not
a good month at all for us. We cheated
ourselves to he 12 sales by advertising on eBay and inventorying Vita-Mix
Blenders so quasi. The eBay fees robbed us of about 50% of our commissions and
we had to pay them in advance. And we also did some deals with Canada in order
to meet competitive advantage. Canada
is however a big No-No as an affiliate.

Back
to our 12 sales in December 07. Vita-Mix Corp thought we kicked butt. December
2007 was the last month of the final quarter in 2007 with next commission
payouts scheduled beginning of January 2008. In January 2008 we were
congratulated that we made it to the top 20 with our sales effort of 12
Vita-Mix 5000 units. What does this mean to you? Our additional question to
that is: What’s wrong with that picture? Is it perhaps that it takes 12 sales
per quarter to make it to the top 20 Sales Affiliates? Is the Vita-Mix
affiliate program then working well?

To
the above findings, it is perhaps also intriguing to note that the Vita-Mix
Affiliate Program has rules and policies that each Vita-Mix Affiliate must
abide by. We intended to keep the rules. Becky Prince
emphasized that the rules and policies are there to be fair to all 3000
affiliates. In our opinion their affiliate marketing campaign does not work
well. Yet the company wants to keep its policies in place that don’t work for
the majority. Is that a smart move? Again, these are intelligent people, highly
successfully having developed a top high-performance blender. Does that mean
there are perhaps other motives behind the scene?

We
allege that company appears not having any interest in building its Affiliate
Program but rather just get free advertising. Or, perhaps, they are incapable
of building a satisfactory and mutual relationship between them and their
affiliates.<u1:p> </u1:p>

Hopefully our blog is going to help us all to reach some
positive collaboration with Vita-Mix and hopefully new affiliates and those
3000 that haven’t quite made it to success are coming up with a method that
will surely work for them. It is not an easy task to manage multiple sales
channels for a company. Affiliate marketers should however not become victims
to organizational misbehaviors of such as it appears with the Vita-Mix
Corporation, and perhaps others.

The
next thing that Vita-Mix must do is to get a working account log-in system for
affiliates to check their sales. Regardless, be aware of historic actions.
Normally a wolf in sheep’s clothing is still a wolf.<u1:p> </u1:p>

We
wish Vita-Mix and its fantastic High-Performance Blender 5200 much success.

Comments
and additionally shared experiences are welcome. We are open to learn the
opposite. All of our statements and allegations that may consequentially lead
to legal action against Vita-Mix are evidence. Nothing said or stated herein
has been fabricated and can be proven in a court of law. It is not our
intention to harm Vita-Mix Corporation. We desire to dig up the truth and we
are hopping for some fire.

Thank you!

After being stuck inside all winter, I am ready to fire up the grill and throw on a nice rib-eye or New York Strip steak. The cost of meat has been rising with the price of gas, but with Spring in the air, who cares? I know there is always a controversy over wheter to use a gas grill or charcoal. I, for one, prefer gas. I found a nice resource for informaton at BBQ - Steak Cuts And Barbeque Style.

Barbequed chicken is wonderful, but if I had my choice, I would go with rib-eye.The final result is a delicious barbeque that demonstrates why the style and cut remain so popular.

I hope you enjoy this season as much as I do. Happy grilling!

Mexican food is something that you either love or hate,
there is not really an in between there. Of course, depending on the amount of
chilies in your Mexican food, it can either love or hate you as well. And that
brings us to the point of healthy eating and Mexican food.

The problem in most Mexican foods that you find north of the
border is that they have been infused with so much fat and calories and have
been turned into monstrous super sized meals with enough food to feed an entire
family in each individual serving. If you look further into Mexican food history you will find that Mexican food cooked in Mexico
can actually be quite healthy

Most Mexican food that is made in Mexico
is rich in fresh vegetables and, as such, healthy because the fresh vegetables
and other fresh ingredients impart vitamins and proteins into the food. It is
also flavored with real spices that can also be healthy as some spices contain
antioxidants. Real spices give you real flavor that is natural and therefore
better for you.

Now it is certainly possible to eat that healthy here in the
States if you know how to prepare the dishes yourself and you use healthy
ingredients or you know a store where you can purchase fresh ingredients that
are rich in the vitamins and devoid of the items that are detrimental to good
health.

You will also find that an “American” version of a
true Mexican dish will bear little resemblance to the dish it represents. That
is, once again due to the fact that the American dining public has gotten used
to the over large portions and fat content. As Americans we have come to think
of fat content as flavor content. That can be blamed on us as consumers. The
restaurants are only giving us what we want.

If you examine the history of Mexican food you will find
that it has taken the Mexican people centuries to work out the best
combinations of spices and ingredients to make food taste good. What they have
found is that freshly prepared food, using freshly harvested items produces a
rich tasting and healthy meal.

The recipes that grace the Mexican peoples tables have been
handed down from generation to generation and improved on by each person that
makes it. We should revel in the healthy choices that the Mexican people have
been surviving on for centuries and adapt them to our ways of life.

Europeans and Americans drink coffee like it is going out of style.
Coffee is a popular social tool that has been around since any of us
can remember. The popularity growth in coffee consumption has prompted
many growers to experiment with how they grow coffee, especially in
recent years when it has been proven that fertilizer does more harm
than good. Organic coffee is on the horizon for them now.

Organic coffee - what is it exactly? This is coffee that is grown
without using enhancement chemicals. It has been done that way since
time before chemical companies intruded. Farmers plant the seeds,
irrigate the roots and let the sun do the rest.

The Department of Agriculture has set into motion a crop rotation
program. Crop rotation aids the farmer’s in coping with the demand of
coffee products on the open market, especially organic flavored coffee.
One way that organic flavored coffee growers can benefit is by applying
to the government for incentives. The agricultural community supports
the growing of it wholeheartedly. So much so that they will give
benefits to farmers who grow organic. It takes a while to get certified
organic but to the coffee grower it is well worth the wait.

As with the majority of organic products, organic coffee takes more
time to come to term. This means that organic coffee costs more than
your general store brands. In some instances, 12 ounces of organic
coffee can be sold for $1.00 per ounce.

Organic coffee, like other organic or all natural foods, is sold in
an entirely different section of your local supermarket. This type of
coffee is sold in caffeinated and decaffeinated as well as flavored
with vanilla, chocolate hazelnut or anything else you can think of that
regular coffee comes in. Organic flavored coffee(like other
all-natural products) must contain a seal indicating it is, in fact,
organic. This is an FDA classification and cannot be overlooked.

Granted, organic coffee is more expensive than traditional coffee,
but the sense of wellness it brings cannot be unmatched. Many brands
you find are not made in the US but in countries that support slavery
and the use of warlords such as South America or Africa.

Organic coffee prices will go down over the next few years, analysts
predict. This is made possible by the crop rotation practices mentioned
earlier by avoiding using fertilizers and pesticides.

The use of organic coffee or other products will not allow you to
live longer, that is a guarantee that cannot be made. These organic
products can help you live healthier lifestyles. Healthier lifestyles
can lead to longer life. So the next time that you are in the grocery
store or other large food center look at all of the organic food you
can buy and realize that you can be feeling better and living a
healthier, more enriching life than you were before switching from
non-organic foods to organic.

The smell of coffee brewing can surely awaken the senses. When I was
young, just the smell of freshly brewed coffee would draw me from the
comforts of my bed in the early morning. After sipping my first cup
when I was older is when the effects of coffee really began to kick in.

There are definite physical effects of coffee on your body. A cup of
freshly brewed java can boost the body’s alertness, improve performance
and concentration. The internal organs are affected also. There is a
change in the heart rate, raised blood pressure and basal metabolic
rate. It also promotes urine production. Coffee can help relax muscle
tension. Students have discovered these changes and use coffee while
studying for an exam. Along with the students others use it also as a
stimulant to get them going in the morning or keep them awake at night.

Caffeine, of course, is the main ingredient in your cup of java.
Researchers have proven that a safe amount would be one or two cups a
day. When more than two cups are exceeded your body may suffer the
negative effects. This may include insomnia, migraines, increased or
irregular heartbeat, nausea and muscle tension. Your doctor may advise
you to drink less caffeine as continued extreme use may lead to ulcer
or heartburn.

Pregnant women should cut back on their coffee intake or avoid it
altogether since it could cause birth defects and patients with heart
conditions should also avoid it due to the possibility of other health
problems. There are also other substances that contain caffeine such as
tea, sodas and chocolates which should also be restricted.

Having several cups of latte or espresso will not cause a person to
act irrationally or become psychotic. These actions are usually
associated with the use of illegal stimulants or alcohol. But caffeine
can become habit forming. Those who drink it on a regular basis and
suddenly stop may experience what is known as withdrawal effects that
will disappear after a day or two when they are able to once again have
a cup of coffee.

There are some health benefits of coffee. Coffee has been known to
prevent certain diseases. Java for instance has been effective as an
anti-depressant in some people. It has been thought that caffeine may
lessen the chances of developing Parkinson’s disease in men even if
doctors aren’t yet able to determine the cause of this disease.

Coffee has always been very popular is consumed in almost every
household. Today the drive thru coffee house has become a convenient
way to get your morning fix. Imported java can be purchased from the
local market, brewed at home or in the office. The effects it has on
one person may vary with another depending on how different bodies
react to the caffeine. If a person begins feeling it is affecting their
health in a negative way, common sense would be to cut back on their
consumption or stop altogether.

I was dodging raindrops and puddles as I walked the short distance to my office. As I was passing a local house, I saw an elderly woman standing near the entrance holding an umbrella over her little white puppy. Unfortunately, the umbrella wasn’t large enough to cover both her and the dog, so she was getting soaked.

Unable to withhold comment, I said, “Do you think he’ll mind if he gets wet?” She responded, “Well the truth is, that if I don’t hold the umbrella for him he gets angry and pouts and won’t eat his lunch.” And, by dinnertime he’s absolutely unbearable!

Welcome to the world of the spoiled dog.

Although man’s best friend has always been his dog, the degree to which man has rewarded that friendship has quite possibly gotten out of hand. Evidence to support that statement can be found in the food we give our dog, the brand name “designer dog clothes” we put on their backs, the jewelry and special diets.

We send “Rover” to counseling sessions with dog psychologists, clip/wash/curl their hair and make sure their nails are done so as not to embarrass them in front of their doggy friends.

How many of us have spent a restless night because “Missy”, our pug faced Pekinese, can’t seem to get comfortable in our bed or “Bull”, our six ounce Chihuahua, growls and snaps at us when we roll over on him.

Yes, for those of you that are disbelievers, many people do share their beds with their doggies. In fact, I’ve heard of many cases where couples sleep apart rather than crowd the dog. Have you ever tried to argue with a sleepy Doberman Pincher? Forget about it!

A thriving and lucrative industry has grown up around the pampered pet. Pet owners spend multi-millions each year on their little four-legged friends. Occasionally the news media will offer a blurb about the pet owner who spent thousands of dollars on a diamond studded dog collar.

Now let’s get down to diet – what can we feed “Prince”, the proud Rottweiler? To be honest, Prince isn’t all that fond of dry dog food. He’ll eat some of it, but only if mixed with some of that delicious home made lamb gravy he likes. And, just like most of us, he prefers light fare in the mornings; perhaps a few scrambled eggs and just a slice or two of crispy bacon.

No need to make a big fuss about dinner though, he’ll usually eat most of what you’re having, maybe before you get to it!

This scenario might involve a slight stretch, but it is certainly not too far fetched. We worry more about what our pets will eat, or if they’re “off their feed”, than we worry about what our kids eat. I wonder how it is we know that our kids will eat when they get hungry, but we can’t accept that this might apply to our dogs too.

We feel compelled to continue to offer our dogs a full menu from which to select and if all else fails, it’s time to schedule a trip to the Vet.

Speaking of Veterinarians - most of them now offer direct deposit so your entire paycheck can be directed right into their accounts. Veterinary expenses have gone through the roof and there’s no end to the elaborate medical procedures now being provided routinely.

A friend who complained for months about the cost of dental appliances (braces) for his kid willingly shelled out $2500 to fix his dog’s overbite because “Tiger” appeared to be in discomfort when chewing on his rawhide bone.

Now that we’ve clearly established that we spoil our dogs, let’s offer a word or two in our own defense. Dogs love us without reservation. Scold them, treat then meanly, tease them, and they’ll still love you unconditionally.

In history, dogs have given their lives for their masters. “Police” dogs will face an armed attacker to protect their handler and “Seeing Eye” dogs will risk death or injury to steer their Charge away from a speeding car. A dog’s love for its master is pure and unquestioning. In my opinion, they deserve all the pampering they can get.

Pets, especially dogs, make us feel good. They comfort us, allow us to be ourselves and give those of us that need it, a reason for living. After all, there is always a warm welcome when you arrive home, and so deserve to be served, spoiled and looked after like a member of the family.

——————————————————————

Having a wine rack is essential for those wine lovers who are
adamant on having a generous supply of assorted wines on hand for any
occasion, visitor or special event. There are many different types of
wine racks available for purchase to assemble yourself or already
assembled, but for those who live in known earthquake areas, whether
large or small, a wall mounted wine rack is recommended.

Wall mounted wine racks are not only affordable but very functional
as well. They can be mounted easily by following the simple
instructions included in pre-made kits and will have everything you
need in order to install them yourself. Typically there will be
recommended areas to install your wine rack and these suggestions
should not be taken lightly. Although wall mounted wine racks do come
in a variety of shapes and sizes for many different homes, it does need
to be secured to a wall that is adequate enough to withhold a number of
bottles in place.

Depending on your style of home and the security of your walls, your
wine rack would best be mounted in a cellar or pantry room. It should
be well secured and properly fitted to avoid any unnecessary movement.
It should be attached so that it can be easily removed should you
decide to take out walls in your kitchen later during a redecorating
phase.

The type of wood your taste may require for your wine rack can be an
easy decision based on the décor and functionality of your home at the
present time. You may not want to choose pinewood for your wine rack if
you have oak everywhere else in your home. Remember that the usefulness
of the wine rack is essential and should not be installed anywhere
close to doors or windows and away from direct sunlight.

When deciding to install a wall mounted wine rack, you will need to
take stock of the uses you have for one in your home. Are you an avid
wine drinker that likes to have several varietals on hand for any
occasion or just a host that feels 1 or 2 bottles kept for that special
guest is sufficient? Space will also determine exactly what kind of
wine rack you will need since it is impossible to install a very large
wine rack into a home without enough space to accommodate it.

There are many places where you can obtain pre-made plans for making
your own wall mounted wine rack. The Internet is a great resource for
such things that will guide you through the process of determining the
type of wine rack you need as well as building and installing it
yourself.

If you have decided to tackle the task of completing and installing
your own wall mounted wine rack, you will find the process somewhat
relaxing and rewarding once it has been finished and holds your
treasures. A homemade wine rack is not only a stylish touch to any home
but a great conversation piece when guests come to visit. Do not feel
discouraged if it does not turn out exactly the way you planned on the
first try, part of the fun of attempting a project such as this
yourself is the learning experience you get from it.

Green tea has long been used by all people, especially the Chinese, as a medicine to treat such problems as headaches, body aches, poor digestion, as well as to generally improve the well-being and life expectancy of a person. The extract of green tea is bioflavonoid rich, and so one of its main uses is to fight off the free radicals in your body.

As well, the extract of green tea also contains high levels of polyphenols, and as well is a rich source of EGCG, which is an antioxidant that is over 200 times more potent than vitamin E in fighting free radicals and pro-oxidants. The EGCG matter in green tea is important, because it is this which helps to protect against that of digestive and respiratory infections, as well as blocks the actions of carcinogens which promote cancer, and it also is anti-bacterial and helps to lower cholesterol levels.
